this an awful lot like Badger's Far Future Irregulars proposal, in fact WGF should probably just combined the two, unless some one has real good reason against it.

I disagree, since I'm not talking about irregulars, but regular professional even elite troops in high tech armour....there is bound to be some crossover but having read the irregulars topic I do not think were talking about the same thing here.

I'm going more with the light powered armour idea, since if your going to armour up a suit you might as well have the benefits of a powered exoskeletion built in.

that sounds oddly like jacks future marine propsal actually, at least the direction we took it

I had a look at the near future marines topic seems like the topic went way off its proposal into what I'm talking about rather than the near future setting he was going for.....which would be more an updated modern marine (with maybe an exoskeleton and improved body armour).
