As far as I'm aware, any American usage of the term "Ute" is an adoption from Australia, probably as a marketing tool at some point when things Aussie were in vogue. We take no responsibility for misuse of our term that you may be applying :)

In any case, I think we're all on the same page that the best chassis to use for the technical design would be a genericised Hi-Lux (as discussed at length before).

You do realize that utes are unique to Australia, they never really caught on in the rest of the world. Now something like a Toyota pick-up truck (which is every where) would be perfect since all the fashionable insurgents use those. ;)

As to Mad Max, we all know that franchise is really set in hell since they always have enough water and gas to scrape by and fuel vehicles for fights despite both being rare resources. :twisted: :lol:


"Ute" is simply short for "utility".

In Canuckistan the term is pick-em-up truck. Pick-up is also from here and the USA adopted/copied that term.
