Welcome and Rules of Conduct

Postby Paul » 03 Mar 2014, 19:27

Welcome
Hello everyone, and welcome to the new Wargames Factory Forums! We were encountering so many problems with the old Lefora forums that we needed to move to a new venue. Unfortunately, we are not able to move the contents of the old forums to the new. We are starting fresh. If you feel strongly about any of the topics on the old forums (which we’ll leave up for the time being) you are welcome to copy the content to the new forum under its appropriate heading.

Rules of Conduct
Below is a list of rules of conduct so we can all enjoy ourselves:

    1) Please be nice. Treat other forum members (and the administrators) the way you’d like to be treated.

    2) No profanity or lewd discussions; keep the language and subject matter “PG”.

    3) This forum is for Wargames Factory (and the companies we manufacture for, like Dreamforge Games). This isn’t to say you can't mention competing products and companies. What we will not allow is the advertising of other companies’ product on our forum.

    4) This is not a sales site. If you have something to sell, please do not post it here or private message others about it. Exception – if you need something that is manufactured by Wargames Factory, like extra heads/weapons/etc., you can ask if anyone can help you out. Please don’t ask for other companies' product on Wargames Factory forums.

    5) This site is not for bashing. Do not speak ill of other forum members, companies, conventions or products. If you have a criticism about something Wargames Factory related, by all means express your concerns. Solutions are what we are looking for. Saying that something "sucks" is not nearly as productive as “This product seems dated, have you thought of replacing it with…?”

We are excited to build a great community and hope there will be little need to enforce our rules of conduct. The following will be our enforcement policy: First time offenders will be warned. Second offense and you will lose your privilege to post for a week. Third offense and lose your privilege to post for a month. More than three offenses and you will be banned permanently.

There have been some questions and requests for additional explanation on rule 3: "... what we will not allow is the advertising of other companies’ product on our forum"

Here are some additional guidelines to help clarify:

  • Showcasing conversions using our miniatures along with other companies' miniatures is perfectly acceptable.
  • Comparison shots showing how our miniatures work in conjunction with other companies' miniatures is fine as well. For example, you can show army or group shots that contain both ours and other miniatures.
  • What is NOT kosher is simply showcasing or promoting other companies' miniatures.

We do reserve the right to make individual judgement calls on a case by case basis. For example if we feel someone is doing comparison shots to blatantly promote another companies product we may take action.
